Samuel Hill Morgan, Sr. (1863-1936), son of Samuel H. Morgan and Flora Abigail Smith, married Wilhelmina Meyers in 1886. They had eight children and were longtime residents of Guyton in Effingham County, Georgia. Samuel Morgan, Sr. served as the mayor of Guyton, on the board of Regents of the University of Georgia, on the Effingham County board of education, on the Effingham County Commission, and as a senator in the first district in the Georgia Assembly.
